As CEO, it’s been my goal to help drive our dream at Flashpoint of turning our Business Risk Intelligence (BRI) vision into a tangible reality. Today, as I reflect on Flashpoint’s seventh consecutive quarter of exceeding bookings goals, I’m excited to share how our team’s accomplishments continue to fuel rapid growth, solidify BRI as an industry standard, and enable us to help even more organizations worldwide gain a decision advantage over threats and adversaries.
Our diverse customer base now comprises leading enterprises and public sector organizations across 21 different verticals, and I’m confident that through further collaboration, information sharing, and teamwork, our customers and partners alike will continue to help us augment the reach and impact of BRI on even more use cases.
Indeed, Q3 2017 has been particularly remarkable for us:
Series C Investment Supports BRI as a Requirement
The close of our $28 million Series C round in July was a transformational milestone. Led by new investors Georgian Partners and joined by existing investors Greycroft Partners, TechOperators, Leaders Fund, Jump Capital, Bloomberg Beta, and Cisco Investments, this latest round of funding is enabling us to solidify BRI as a requirement across the enterprise. In addition to positioning us to support our customers in addressing an even wider array of emerging business risk use cases, our Series C builds upon our successful expansion into EMEA and Asia Pacific earlier this year, further accelerating the global adoption of BRI.
This funding has also allowed us to bolster our recruitment efforts, which are especially crucial given that attracting even more specialized talent has long been a key component of our technology roadmap. After all, our people have always been integral to our mission. As we continue to grow and scale the company, recruiting and retaining skilled, committed team members remains a top priority.
Industry Leadership, Industry-Leading Talent
It became readily apparent over these last few months that along with the increased demand for BRI was a rapidly growing interest in Flashpoint Advisory Services, which is why we were honored to welcome industry veteran Seán McGurk as our new Executive Director of Advisory Services. Seán’s leadership has immediately impacted his team’s growth and trajectory, reinforcing the fact that our people and their expertise are truly integral to our mission.
Indeed, in Q3, Flashpoint’s new and existing talent alike earned widespread commendation for their research and leadership. In just a few short months, Director of Research Allison Nixon’s cross-organizational collaboration led to the takedown of the WireX botnet, Director of Counterterrorism Alex Kassirer was named one of SC Magazine’s Eight Women to Watch in IT Security, Director of Research Vitali Kremez earned SC Magazine’s Threat Seeker award, and, thanks to the diligence and support of our entire team, I’m humbled that TechWeek 100 NYC included me in their list of Established Leaders for 2017.
Product and Partnerships Expand BRI’s Global Footprint
Just as an approach to intelligence that extends beyond tactical indicators has long supported our vision for BRI, so, too, have collaborative, trusted partnerships and technical development. This is why the introduction of our API v4, Strategic Partner Network, and Global Channel Program in Q3 marked a turning point for the company.
As I recently told eWeek, “We’re looking beyond the tactical list of indicators to provide business risk intelligence…The primary use case for our data is really to drive better decision making.”
Now, with our API v4 and new global partner programs, we’re able to make all of our datasets more accessible and customizable across the enterprise, thereby empowering even more organizations to make better decisions. By building upon the already robust group of 50 channel partners globally that have chosen our human-powered analysis and sophisticated technology to help their customers mitigate risk, our API v4 and new global partner programs will continue to support our growth and vision for BRI.
Above all else, I want to reiterate that I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve accomplished in Q3.
