Enterprise Strategy Group: Evolve Threat Intelligence to Strategic Business Risk Intelligence

Josh Lefkowitz

It’s been less than a year since Flashpoint introduced the concept of Business Risk Intelligence (BRI) to the market. And while a long-time customer recently told me that what we’ve always done is BRI, it really helped us better explain and demonstrate the value we provide to our customers with our Deep & Dark Web intelligence.

Like any exercise when you try to redefine or reshape the definition of a market as confused as cyber threat intelligence (CTI), it takes time to drive that message through that noise. The market’s adoption of BRI, however, has been more rapid than we expected because BRI brings a clarity to what is and what isn’t intelligence. And now I’d like to turn to yet another milestone in the market’s adoption and understanding of BRI — the latest Enterprise Strategy Group Solutions Showcase.

The Solutions Showcase, called “The Evolution of Business Risk Intelligence with Flashpoint,” provides a poignant overview of the current state of CTI, the challenges of automating and operationalizing threat intelligence programs, and how threat intelligence needs to evolve to address business risk.

This current state and these challenges are exactly why Flashpoint’s mission of providing BRI is so important to us; there had to be a way to address the underserved CTI market in a way that reflects the diverse needs of all organizations — whether public or private sector, whether domestic or foreign. Every organization’s challenges are different based on their industry, their size, their geographic location, and even their culture and language, making it even more imperative that their Deep & Dark Web intelligence efforts be supported by humans who are experts in such areas.

The document also examines how many organizations still treat CTI as a tactical tool and do not yet realize its true potential. It advises how Flashpoint can help these organizations evolve their programs to produce strategic BRI, which not only addresses cybersecurity but physical security, fraud, third-party, and insider threats. Looking at the entire business ecosystem with threat intelligence in this way can help optimize return on investment while improving cybersecurity performance and addressing business risks.

“Flashpoint can help organizations to evolve their tactical threat intelligence programs into strategic business risk intelligence programs, maximizing return on investment and helping to mitigate business risks.”

We’re all very proud of this Solutions Showcase, which is the result of our amazing teams–engineering, intelligence analysts, R&D, and product– delivering our stand-out BRI to our customers.
