At the close of a very successful 2016, I stated that the foundation had been laid for 2017 to be the “Year of Business Risk Intelligence.” I’m very pleased that through our hard work in meeting the needs of our customers, our Q1 2017 progress has indeed demonstrated this statement to be true.

Flashpoint’s mission continues to leverage technology, data, and subject matter expertise to glean highly relevant intelligence from the Deep & Dark Web that can help organizations address the threats that matter most. Indeed, our team’s achievements since the start of 2017 not only serve to further illustrate our commitment to our customers, but also have been instrumental in shaping the direction and accelerating the growth of the company.

Our noteworthy Q1 2017 achievements include:

Providing more options for uniquely-tailored Business Risk Intelligence (BRI)
As the market adoption of BRI has increased, we’ve seen more demand for additional ways to help our clients address the threats emerging from the Deep & Dark Web. Since many of these organizations may require additional support to further develop their in-house capabilities to address their intelligence needs, we launched Flashpoint Advisory Services. This new offering aims to help all customers — regardless of industry, size, or skill-level — mature their intelligence operations and capabilities while gleaning even more value from Flashpoint’s uniquely-tailored intelligence. As a matter of fact, we closed 10 advisory services deals in Q1 alone, thus highlighting our clients’ need for this strategic offering.

Continuing to enrich Customer Success with top intelligence talent
Given that our goal has always been to serve as an extension of our client organizations and assist them in utilizing BRI to help navigate difficult decisions, we sought to augment our Customer Success team with more top tier intelligence talent. I’m thrilled that we were able to attract two new Directors of Customer Success. Industry veterans Glenn Lemons and Chris Foster — whose extensive intelligence experience at esteemed organizations including Citi, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, FireEye iSight, Chevron, and Booz Allen Hamilton — have helped us uphold the highest standards of service and expertise in support of our customers.

Expanding customer testimonials and supporting use cases for BRI
The expansion of our Customer Success team accelerated our efforts to collaborate closely with our customers’ teams while enabling us to learn even more from our customers about how they are leveraging BRI across the enterprise. Naturally, we were honored when insurance leader and longtime Flashpoint customer Aflac collaborated with us to publish a case study about how BRI enables the company to address emerging fraud schemes and protect its bottom line. We then published a series of use cases aimed at providing visibility into how BRI can help organizations across all sectors address relevant threats and mitigate risk. Our first series introduced in Q1 focuses on the Financial Services, Healthcare, Legal, and Retail industries.

Reaffirming the critical importance of human-powered intelligence
Human expertise remains integral in guiding the development of Flashpoint’s technology and enabling us to deliver the high-quality, relevant intelligence on which our customers have come to rely. As such, I couldn’t be prouder of the following Q1 2017 initiatives that served to further showcase our people and their unmatched expertise:

Flash Talks: This series of short video clips highlights our analysts’ expertise in certain relevant topics of interest, including Turkish hacktivism, China’s cybersecurity legislation, and EMV skimming. I’m thrilled with the well-deserved attention our analysts have received thus far for Flash Talks, which truly speaks not only to their level of expertise but to their commitment to educating the broader community.

Analyst Roadshow Seminar Series: Geared toward a diverse mix of intelligence experts and business leaders from some of the world’s leading organizations, our team was thrilled to host a series of engaging luncheons in Dallas, Toronto, and New York. And, based on the wonderful feedback we received after the first installment of this series, we’re excited to host another series of luncheons in five new cities this spring.

External Validation: Our team’s achievements earned them an abundance of well-deserved media recognition throughout Q1, including highlights such as:

• Enterprise Strategy Group published a Solutions Showcase on the evolution of BRI with Flashpoint, which stated, “Flashpoint continues to grow its intelligence capabilities to address more than just traditional cybersecurity and IT threats. Organizations looking to evolve from tactical cyber threat intelligence programs to strategic business risk intelligence programs would be smart to take a closer look at Flashpoint.”

• Chief Marketing Officer Jennifer Leggio, Director of Security Research Allison Nixon, and Senior Analyst Alex Kassirer were recognized for their achievements as “Amazing Women in Security” by CSO Online

• Director of Research Vitali Kremez’s presentation titled “Psychology of an Eastern European Cybercriminal” was one of a select few to be chosen for RSA’s Quick Looks feature

• Chief Strategy Officer Chris Camacho’s expertise gleaned from leading threat intel teams and working with security startups is featured in CSO Online

Lastly, I’m proud to announce that thanks to the hard work, expertise, and commitment from each and every member of the Flashpoint team, we far exceeded our quarterly bookings target for the fifth consecutive quarter. Largely comprised of Fortune 500 companies and top-tier government agencies, our robust customer base continues to expand across verticals such as finance, retail, insurance, healthcare, law, media, energy, technology, telecommunications, and defense, in addition to gaining new representation across the aviation, entertainment, and manufacturing sectors. With a successful Q1 now behind us, I am even more confident in our team’s ability to deliver high-value, actionable BRI that will continue to help more organizations make informed decisions and mitigate risk across the enterprise.
