Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula Claims “Martyrdom Operation on the Den of the Houthis”

On September 11, 2011, Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula released a statement claiming responsibility for a “martyrdom operation” “on the den of the Houthis in al-Matamma city in al-Jawf, on Monday, 15th of Ramadan, 1432 Hijri, where a huge number of fighters from ‘The Death Squad’ special forces that came from Saada to al-Jawf to participate in war on our people in these regions were present.” According to the communiqué, “Allah allowed the killing of more than 100 of them, and hundreds of them were injured. And this operation took place almost after 6 months of continuous battles the Houthis had been launching, aiming to control the regions of the Sunnis in al-Jawf.”
