On June 22, 2011, Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula’s (AQAP) al-Malahem Media released the 6th issue of its magazine series "Peninsula Martyrs," featuring the biography of former Guantanamo detainee Fahd al-Jutaili (a/k/. Abu Yaqin al-Qassimi; a/k/a Abu Shaddad). The biography was authored by AQAP ideologue Shaykh Ibrahim al-Rubaish. According to a leaked Department of Defense assessment of al-Qassimi, when he was held at Guantanamo, he was deemed to be “a low-level member of Al-Qaida who went to Afghanistan (AF) for the purpose of receiving jihadist training. Detainee's name was found on a number of documents associated with Al-Qaida. In addition, detainee stayed at an Al-Qaida run guesthouse and trained at an Al-Qaida run training camp, both of which were closely associated to Usama Bin Laden (UBL)...” The AQAP biography further notes that “He fought alongside the Mujahideen on the defiant mountains of Afghanistan for a number of months, and he witnessed the repulsions of the raids and horrors of the bombs…And he was in Tora Bora during the days of the heavy raids…” He was reportedly subsequently involved in the failed attack on Saudi Prince Muhammed Bin Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, the Assistant Minister of Interior for Security Affairs.
