Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) Mourns the Death of Usama Bin Laden

AQAP.LogoOn May 11, 2011, Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula released a statement by emir Nasir al-Wahishi mourning the “martyrdom” of Usama Bin Laden. In the communiqué, al-Wahishi stated, “May the Americans know that the ember of Jihad is hotter and greater than it was before during the life of the Shaykh.” The statement continued, “we are a nation whose principles do not die with the demise of its men, but it feeds of the blood of its men, and we sacrifice our men for its cause, and the honesty of our message [appears] with the martyrdom of our leaders.”
