Hakimullah Mehsud’s Eid ul-Adha Message

On November 8, 2011, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) leader Hakimullah Mehsud released an Eid ul-Adha message. Addressing the Pakistani “government and security agencies,” he stated, “You are responsible for the bloodshed of innocent civilians in Afghanistan and for handing over Arab, Uzbek and other Mujahideen to the kuffar only so that you may please their leaders. To serve the interests of America and the kuffar, you have thrown away your lives in Peshawar, Waziristan, Swat and many other places. Our war with you will continue and soon you will be humiliated and disgraced in this very life, and Kufr too will turn its back on you.” He also discussed the coalition’s impending withdrawal from Afghanistan: “The armies of the kuffar are well on their way to defeat, and as an exit strategy will make all last ditch efforts to create rifts amongst the Ummah. The Ummah should be cautious of such traps and make sure that the kuffar do not succeed in their attempts.”
