AQIM.logoOn January 16, 2012, Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) issued a communique offering various terms for the release of a captured Mauritanian gendarme. AQIM's chief demand appears to be for the Mauritanian government to “release two of” their “prisoners."
