AQIM Leader Abu Musab Abdelwadoud: “In Support of the Free, Grandsons of Omar al-Mukhtar”

On March 18, 2011, al-Andalus Media released an audio recording by Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb leader Abu Musab Abdelwadoud titled "In Support of the Free, Grandsons of Omar al-Mukhtar." In the message, Abdelwadoud asserted that “The Zionists, the Crusaders, and the corrupt, apostate tyrannical rulers represent an axis of evil.” Addressing the Libyan people, he said, “The battle you are currently engaged in with the tyrants is the same as our battles yesterday and today." He continued, “We vow to you that we are with you side by side, Allah-wiling, and we will not disappoint you." He counseled Libyans, “the first step towards the correct path is not to have trust in any American role." Further, “America and NATO... are the enemy, so be alert, O' brothers, to the scheming of America and her allies."
