Massadat Al-Mujahideen in Palestine Claims Credit for Setting Nevada Forest Fires

On January 21, 2012, Massadat al-Mujahideen in Palestine released a statement claiming responsibility for the recent forest fires in Nevada. The statement praised the “group of…brothers” that purportedly set the fires “in the Reno region”, and the group announced their intention “to extend our war to spread into all the countries that plot against us with our enemy.” The statement further asserted that targeting Israel and “its allies headed by America” is a “duty on every Muslim until we liberate Palestine.” In the past, Massadat al-Mujahideen has routinely issued farfetched claims of responsibility for forest fires and arson attacks in Israel.
Abdullah Azzam Brigades Statement on Damascus Bombings

On December 27, 2011, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades issued a statement regarding the bombings in Damascus. The group asserted that “The mujahideen have no connection whatsoever to these sinister bombings” and alleged that “Those who are truly responsible are the beneficiaries, the Assad regime and its intelligence agents."

On October 22, 2011, the Lebanon-based "Abdullah Azzam Brigades" released the seventh issue in its ongoing series, "May the Path of Criminals Be Revealed." The message praised “the blessed Syrian revolution”, stating that the “defiant Syrian people are standing on one side in demand of their legitimate rights, and they seek to be liberated from the authority of the unjust…” The communication further urged that “the Jihadist groups that work in ash-Sham countries and Sinai must increase their attacks on the Jewish state and its interests…”

On April 5, 2011, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an Al‐Qaida‐affiliated offshoot operating in Lebanon, released its fifth statement in the series "may the path of criminals be shown," titled: "The Proud Syria." The statement noted, "We encourage our people all over Syria to rise for the revolution with their brothers and draw out the heroic battles and steadfastness to fight the oppressors, and to be liberated from the injustices of this tyrannical, criminal regime that invades the [Muslims’] honor."

On December 23, 2010, the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, an Al‐Qaida‐affiliated offshoot operating in Lebanon, released its third official statement, sharply criticizing Shiites and Hezbollah, and accusing the Lebanese army of having no control over law and order in Lebanon: "that which controls the army and true dominator over it and true director of it, are the Shiites; as no decision gets made except with the permission of the Shiites". The statement pointed out that Abbas Ibrahim, a Shiite with alleged close ties to Hezbollah, is considered "a blood-sucker," and warned that should revolt take place by the Sunnis, "then the person to blame is Abbas Ibrahim and his likes, as he drags harm towards his own sect with his acts". The statement also condemned the army's invasion of homes, as well as atrocities committed against the Sunni population, in Majdal al-Aanjar and Khaled Valley".
