Flashpoint Partners has released an exclusive interview with Jamaat‐ud‐Dawa spokesman Yahya Mujahid. In the interview, Mujahid pointed out that “several judges of the higher judiciary heard arguments in our cases and it has been made clear through the court decisions that [Lashkar‐e‐Taiba leaders] Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and Zaki Ur Rehman Lakhvi have nothing to do with the Mumbai attacks.” He also asserted that cases against Zaki Ur Rehman Lakhvi “are based on political pressure” and “don’t have any substance in them.” Asked about terrorist attacks in Pakistan, he alleged that “any attack in Pakistan that targets innocent people is planned and executed by foreign agencies, such as RAW and others. [The] Taliban are good people...In several instances, the Department of Interior has clear proof of involvement of RAW, Mossad and the CIA.” And, addressing the state of financial collection efforts, Mujahid noted that “We are yet to put things in order” but added that “Once we start our activities, people trust us and donations will not be a problem.”

FemaleMujahidOn May 13, 2010, the "Taifatul Mansura" Turkish‐speaking foreign fighter contingent active on the Afghan‐Pakistani border released a Turkish‐language interview with and photographs of female mujahid “Umm Mohammed”, identified as “a female mujahid with the Islamic Jihad Union in Afghanistan”. Counseling women that they should “leave the worldly pleasures” and “join the Jihad”, “Umm Mohammed” notes that “we have many mujahideen who can’t even eat a hot meal or wash his clothes and misses his family. Don’t think about what you can do for jihad! Even washing the clothes of mujahideen, cooking for them and sewing their clothes brings dignity to mujahideen and contempt to infidels.” She asks, “how can you leave my brothers alone here who sacrificed their life, never sleep and eat and left their home only for the will of Allah? How can you be so indifferent in your home while Islam is being trampled, virtue is disregarded in Iraq, Palestine, Chechnya and in other Jihad lands… How can you ignore all this contempt?"

flashpoint-yazidOn June 15, 2010, Al‐Qaida’s As‐Sahab Media Foundation published a statement by Al‐Qaida Shura Council member Sheikh Mustafa Abu al‐Yazid (a.k.a. Sheikh Saeed) titled "He Who Prepared a Fighter Has Waged a Battle." In the communication, al‐Yazid, who was reportedly recently killed in a U.S. drone strike, urged Muslims to donate money to the mujahideen, stating "it is our duty O’ Ummah of Islam. Jihad with money is the relative of jihad with soul." Al‐Yazid emphasized the need for funds in Afghanistan to target U.S. and NATO forces: "they [mujahideen] remain offering convoys of martyrs, one convoy after another, longing to fight the Americans crusaders and their allies. And they are not short of men as much as they are short on money, which would allow them to continue their jihad against the enemies of Allah and to attack them as much as they possibly can. As there are hundreds of Muslim people in Afghanistan and Pakistan and others who are offering themselves to the leaders of the mujahideen in order to prepare them for jihad. But there aren’t capabilities to carry them over. And many of the anticipated and well‐studied operations are stagnant because of the shortage of money. Jihad by self and money was obliged on us all."
